AKINSUN Redband™ ceramic insulated band heaters are engineered to deliver rapid and efficient heating for industrial machinery and processing equipment. Their primary purpose is to heat machine components or materials quickly while maintaining consistent temperatures that improve productivity. These heaters are especially suited for modern manufacturing environments where high-temperature resins and fast production cycles are common.
Ceramic Redband™ heaters are capable of producing significantly higher operating temperatures than conventional band heaters. Due to the low thermal conductivity of the ceramic fiber insulation, heat is effectively directed toward the cylinder surface rather than being lost to the surrounding environment. While the inner surface temperature can reach up to 1200°F, the outer surface typically remains around 400°F, improving efficiency and safety.
These heaters are manufactured in a wide range of standard construction options, sizes, electrical ratings, and termination configurations. The flexible interlocking ceramic bodies allow the heater to open easily and wrap around cylindrical equipment, making installation quick and convenient. AKINSUN designs and manufactures these heaters using high-quality materials to ensure durability, reliable performance, and long operational life. Custom sizes and diameters are also available to meet specific application requirements.
1. Terminal Box
A durable steel terminal box protects exposed electrical terminals. It includes a 5/8” knockout opening compatible with standard conduit or flexible armored cable connectors, ensuring safe and secure wiring connections.
2. Screw Terminals
Stainless steel screw terminals connected to solid nickel pins provide high amperage carrying capacity. These terminals are designed for reliable electrical performance, while mounting brackets are positioned 180° opposite the terminals for balanced installation.
3. Stainless Steel Sheath
The heater features a stainless steel housing with serrated edges, allowing maximum flexibility during installation. The sheath thickness is carefully selected to provide mechanical strength and efficient heat transfer. It also maintains durability in high-temperature environments without becoming brittle.
4. Ceramic Fiber Insulation
A ¼-inch thick ceramic fiber insulation layer provides excellent dielectric strength and thermal conductivity. This insulation keeps heat directed toward the cylinder instead of dissipating into the surrounding air. Special mounting brackets with ¼-20 socket cap screws ensure the heating assembly is tightly secured against the cylinder for uniform heating.
5. Nickel-Chrome Resistance Wire
Precision-wound nickel-chrome resistance wire is selected from various sizes and resistance values. The winding process maximizes the amount of heating wire within each heater, allowing it to generate high heat output while maintaining cooler internal operating conditions.
6. Radial Lockup Flange
A heavy-duty stainless steel flange is spot-welded to the outer sheath to create strong radial pressure across the entire width of the heater band. This ensures a secure lockup and reliable contact with the cylinder surface.
