Quartz Heaters

Quartz Infrared Heaters for Precision Heating
Quartz infrared heaters deliver fast, efficient, and uniform heat using high-transmission quartz tubes and precision heating coils. Designed for durability and performance, they are ideal for industrial processes requiring reliable infrared heating.
Quartz infrared heaters are engineered to provide precise and efficient heating for a wide range of industrial applications. By utilizing advanced quartz materials and carefully designed heating elements, these heaters deliver consistent infrared radiation that rapidly transfers heat to the target surface. Their design minimizes heat loss while maximizing energy efficiency, making them a dependable solution for controlled heating environments.
The quartz sheath plays a critical role in protecting the heating coil while allowing maximum infrared transmission. Quartz has one of the highest infrared transmission rates of any available material, enabling efficient heat transfer with minimal energy loss. The tube also shields the heating element from external drafts and environmental factors, helping maintain stable heating performance. Compared to tungsten filament lamps or sealed quartz tubes, quartz heaters offer improved durability and a longer service life, often lasting several years while producing very low visible light to reduce glare.
At the core of the heater is a precision-designed heating coil that ensures uniform heat distribution along the length of the quartz tube. When operating at full rated voltage, the coil produces a clear red glow and emits infrared energy in the medium wavelength range of 2.30–3.00 microns. This wavelength range is ideal for fast and efficient heat transfer in many industrial processes. For applications requiring rapid temperature rise, fast-response coil designs are also available. The coil configuration is specifically designed for horizontal operation to maintain consistent performance and longevity.
The heater is supported by specially engineered ceramic caps that provide both mechanical stability and proper ventilation. These ventilated caps allow the heater to “breathe” during heating and cooling cycles, helping manage thermal expansion and improving durability. The ceramic caps are available in several configurations to accommodate different mounting and termination requirements.
Quartz heaters typically use a 10-32 stainless steel screw terminal as the standard electrical connection. However, multiple termination options are available, including lead wires, quick-disconnect connectors, and custom terminal designs to suit specific installation needs.
A specially formulated high-temperature cement is used to bond the quartz tube securely to the ceramic caps. This low-expansion cement provides excellent thermal stability and maintains the structural integrity of the heater during repeated heating cycles. For specialized applications, cement-free designs are also available using alternative support methods.
Quartz infrared heaters combine durability, efficiency, and precise heat control, making them an excellent choice for industrial heating systems that demand reliable and consistent infrared performance.
