Bolt Heaters

Durabolt™ bolt heaters are specialized heating elements designed to preheat large hollow bolts or studs used in heavy industrial equipment. These heaters are commonly used during the installation and servicing of large machinery components where bolts must be expanded to allow proper tightening. By applying concentrated heat inside the bolt, the metal expands, enabling the nut to be tightened more effectively. As the bolt cools and contracts, the nut is drawn even tighter, ensuring a secure and reliable fit.

Bolt heaters are widely used in the maintenance and assembly of heavy equipment such as hydraulic presses, compressors, die blocks, turbines, steam vessels, and other pressure equipment. Their design allows for close tolerance fits within the bolt cavity, ensuring efficient heat transfer directly to the bolt.

Durabolt™ heaters are engineered to deliver high watt densities of up to 100 watts per square inch, which is approximately 65% higher than standard cartridge or tubular heating elements. This high heat concentration enables faster heating times and minimizes heat loss to the surrounding area, improving efficiency and reducing downtime during maintenance procedures.

These heaters are available in various sizes to match different bolt hole diameters and can be manufactured in lengths of up to 96 inches, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
